By: American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - May 21, 2024 - PRLog -- GARNER, NC – The American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors (ASCLD) is pleased to announce Catherine Navetta and John Maciulla as the recipients of the 2024 ASCLD Members of the Year award. This prestigious recognition is in honor of their unwavering dedication and exceptional service to ASCLD as integral members of the Communications Committee and as editors of the "Crime Laboratory Minute" (CLM) newsletter for over five years.

Both Catherine and John have consistently demonstrated their commitment to ASCLD by meticulously editing and managing the CLM newsletter. Until recently, the CLM was published weekly, necessitating the removal of outdated information, the addition of a new President's Message, and the inclusion of new content on a weekly basis. Although the CLM is now issued biweekly, it still requires significant effort to prepare. Throughout their tenure, Catherine and John have shown remarkable patience, often reminding ASCLD Presidents to submit their weekly messages and swiftly adapting to last-minute additions. Their hard work ensures that the CLM reliably reaches ASCLD members' inboxes on time, every time.

As behind-the-scenes volunteers, Catherine and John have played a crucial role in the success of the CLM newsletter, a staple communication tool for ASCLD. Their tireless efforts and dedication have greatly benefited all ASCLD members. In recognition of their outstanding contributions, ASCLD proudly awards Catherine Navetta and John Maciulla the 2024 ASCLD Members of the Year award.

Catherine Navetta serves as a Supervising Criminalist at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Crime Laboratory in Los Angeles, CA. John Maciulla is the Crime Laboratory Manager at the Southern Regional Crime Laboratory, Arizona Department of Public Safety in Tucson, AZ.
