NEW YORK - May 31, 2024 - PRLog -- Ton-Up Records is pleased to announce the release of "First Blood" by Blood on the Saddle and a re-issue of "Hey My Love" by 1960s legend Dean Ford of Marmalade fame.

"First Blood," a collection of early recordings from the original Blood on the Saddle line-up, includes several acoustic duets between founder and guitar virtuoso Greg Davis and co-lead singer Annette Zilinskas. The album features early versions of classics like "Ghost on My Heart," "I Wish I Was A Single Girl Again," and "I Thought I Heard Some Thunder."

Forty years, ten albums, and several line-ups later, Blood on the Saddle has earned its place in music history.  "First Blood" allows fans to experience the development of a sound where "rock is doing something new and a half twist different from what has gone before," as Andrea 'Enthal wrote in the December 1985 issue of Spin Magazine.

In 1974, Dean Ford left his history-making run as lead singer/frontman for the 60s Scottish band Marmalade and began working with Alan Parsons on his debut solo album. It was Parsons' suggestion for Ford to record "Hey My Love," written and originally recorded by Mark Radice in 1971.

Released in 1975 as the first single off of Ford's self-titled debut album, Ford stated in an interview with music industry veteran Dan Matovina, in 2015, that the song "just seemed to work for me."  Ford passed away in 2018.

The single "Hey My Love" by Dean Ford with its original artwork is available today, and fans can look forward to Ford's self-titled debut album, to be reissued on June 21, 2024, for the first time on DSPs.
