Inframark Selected to Partner with the City of Burbank, CAAgreement Includes Contract Operations and Maintenance of Its Water Reclamation Plant and Industrial and Stormwater Programs
By: Inframark KATY, Texas - June 4, 2024 - PRLog -- Inframark, a leader in infrastructure solutions focused on water and wastewater contract operations and maintenance across the U.S., is proud to announce a public-private agreement with the city of Burbank to operate and maintain the Burbank Water Reclamation Plant (BWRP) and associated facilities, as well as the city's Industrial Wastewater Pretreatment Program and the Illicit Stormwater Program.
Inframark has proudly operated water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, and distribution and collection systems in California for more than 25 years. This multi-year operations and maintenance (O&M) agreement with Burbank showcases the range of Inframark's wastewater expertise and capabilities, establishing a flagship project in Southern California. In addition to the BWRP, the expansive scope of services includes the Beachwood Pump Station, the two-mile force main, management of an ELAP (Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program) state-certified laboratory, management of the IPP/Stormwater program, and capital improvement program. Andy Appleton, President of Inframark's Operations and Maintenance division, comments on the new partnership, "As a California resident, I am excited to partner with the city of Burbank and deepen our commitment in this region. With a successful track record in California, our team understands the complexities of operating large wastewater systems in this area. We'll bring our technical capabilities, innovative technologies, and unique service model to bear for Burbank and its residents, leveraging Inframark's systematic approach to drive ongoing excellence and deliver value-generating results for years to come." Inframark has significant experience managing reuse wastewater treatment facilities across the United States, including California. Appleton explains, "This part of the country presents some unique environmental and resource management considerations. As someone who grew up in Southern California, I'm well aware of the water issues that Burbank is confronted with. Our management and technical team have direct experience operating Title 22 and advanced water treatment facilities in California and are familiar with regulations governing indirect and direct potable reuse. This technical expertise will be vital as we support Burbank's water reuse program as a key component of addressing water scarcity issues in the state." Linda Martinez, who will serve as the Project Manager onsite at BWRP, commented, "In preparation for a July 1 start, our transition team, which consists of more than 20 leaders in various operational and support functions at Inframark, has mobilized to ensure the smooth execution of a multi-faceted start-up plan. I look forward to working at the Plant to deliver hands-on support and developing Inframark's signature OneTeam culture, which we think of as a force multiplier for advancing excellence across operations, as well as various ways to support the Burbank community." "I am excited to start this partnership with Inframark, who differentiated themselves from their peers in a very competitive procurement process," stated Public Works Director Ken Berkman. "They demonstrated that they have the depth and breadth of talent and experience that we sought in an O&M partner. I look forward to seeing what their expertise and fresh perspective provide, to the benefit of all BWRP residential and business customers in the City of Burbank."
