ITA Airways launches connections to Saudi Arabia New Nonstop Flight from Riyadh to Rome

SOUTH DELHI, India - June 5, 2024 - PRLog -- The inaugural flight, AZ 838, landed at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh yesterday at 9:25 pm local time, welcomed with ceremonial water arch. Celebrations included a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by key officials from ITA Airways, Riyadh Airports Company, and the Italian Embassy.

Emiliana Limosani, ITA Airways' Chief Commercial Officer, expressed pride in this milestone, emphasizing the strategic importance of Saudi Arabia for business traffic. The airline's commitment to the Middle East extends with upcoming direct routes to Kuwait City and Jeddah.

Ayman AboAbah, CEO of Riyadh Airports Company, hailed the new route as vital for expanding global connections, enhancing travel options, and fostering cultural exchange.

Hazim Al-Hazmi, President of Europe & Americas at The Saudi Tourism Authority, highlighted the route's significance in bolstering tourism, fostering economic ties, and strengthening cultural bonds between Italy and Saudi Arabia.

Mr. Majid Khan, CEO of the Air Connectivity Program, welcomed ITA Airways' entry into the Saudi market, foreseeing increased tourism and air connectivity between Rome and Riyadh.

The new Riyadh-Rome route operates five times weekly, utilizing the state-of-the-art Airbus A321neo, offering enhanced comfort, fuel efficiency, and entertainment options.

The expansion marks ITA Airways' dedication to connecting the Arabian Peninsula and Africa, with plans for further routes to Kuwait City, Jeddah, Accra, and Dakar.
