Vitiligo Bond Foundation Announces Advocacy & Partnerships Inside National Vitiligo Month"By: Haute Choc’lat PR About Vitiligo Vitiligo is a long-term, chronic medical condition that results in loss of pigmentation in patches on the skin, hair, eyes, and inside of the mouth. It is not contagious. In the United States, around two to five million people are affected by vitiligo. The American Academy of Dermatology refers to vitiligo as a life-altering disorder that can result in low self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. This is especially prevalent when children are diagnosed. Suicide rates amongst bullied children are found to be two to nine times higher for those living with the condition. Millions of men, women, and children suffering from vitiligo need comprehensive medical and mental health support. This resolution not only will be another tool for planting seeds of hope but will positively impact children living with vitiligo. Awareness is the key. Without support vitiligo can damage the human spirit," said Vitiligo Bond CEO Natasha Pierre McCarthy. Vitiligo Bond Foundation Vitiligo Bond continues to raise awareness, promote acceptance, and support individuals living with vitiligo. Through educational initiatives, community outreach, and advocacy efforts, we seek to foster understanding and inclusivity.
