LA HABRA, Calif. - June 6, 2024 - PRLog -- The Phantom Projects Theatre at La Habra Depot has become the new cornerstone for community engagement in Orange County, thanks to the visionary leadership of co-founder, Steve Cisneros and his Phantom Projects Theatre Group. The theater's remarkable transformation from a modest, under-recognized venue into a hub of cultural and performing arts education under the management of Phantom Projects Theatre Group has encouraged The City of La Habra to extend the theatre groups management contract for another five-year term, just halfway through their initial term.

The theater's educational outreach saw incredible success during the 2023-24 school year, highlighted by 28 sold-out field trip productions to local North Orange County schools. Popular productions such as Charlotte's Web, Cat In The Hat, and James and The Giant Peach are just some of the productions created especially for the theatre group to perform for students onsite at local schools that partner with the theatre group to provide such programming.

As a venue, The Phantom Projects Theatre at La Habra Depot has seen a remarkable increase in attendance when audiences filled only 15-20% of the seats at the beginning of the group's management takeover in 2021. Now, just three years later, resident productions run with near-full houses of 90-100% capacity for recent and upcoming productions like Sweeney Todd, Matilda Jr., and Real Women Have Curves.

Through strategic programming, essential renovations, and an all-hands-on-deck approach to revitalizing the venue, Cisneros and his tteam have significantly enhanced the theater's appeal. This year, the theater's schedule includes five major season productions, three unique field trip shows, and a variety of special live performances; in addition to the annual fundraising gala on August 3rd set to raise essential funds to keep these impactful programs both affordable and accessible.

This remarkable story of reviving a beloved historic landmark into its use as a refreshed and relevant performing arts venue highlights the transformative power of commitment, determination, and a passion for sharing the performing arts. The theatre group hopes to continue its mission of bringing positive social impact to the broader Orange County community.

The Phantom Projects Theatre at La Habra Depot is located at 311 South Euclid Street, La Habra, CA 90631. The current production of Sweeney Todd: Demon Barber of Fleet Street runs from May 31st through June 16th, 2024. For more information, visit http://www.thephantomprojectstheatre.com.
