Songwriter Harold Payne Releases "Quiet Heroes", Honoring Brave WWII Japanese American Soldiers

Having grown up on the same block with three of these veterans, Harold did not learn about their exploits until he was in his early 20s. These veterans never spoke about how they liberated several towns in France & Italy from the Nazis—all this, while their families were being held in internment camps back home in the United States.  The 100th/442nd was the most decorated unit of its size and length of service in U.S. military history and are still celebrated in the towns that they liberated. "So, while their families were put in "internment camps," they volunteered to serve, to demonstrate their loyalty." These acts and their eventual retelling would later inspire Harold to write the words and music to honor these veterans, "Quiet Heroes".
