The Scholarship Plug Announces Free FAFSA Application Assistance Workshops

LAUDERHILL, Fla. - July 10, 2024 - PRLog -- Lauderhill, FL – The Scholarship Plug is excited to announce a series of free workshops dedicated to helping students and families in Broward, Palm Beach and surrounding counties complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). These workshops are a vital resource for those seeking financial aid for higher education, ensuring that every eligible student has access to the support they need.

Navigating the FAFSA application process can be daunting, but it is essential for securing financial aid for college. The Scholarship Plug and Representative Joseph are committed to providing the necessary guidance and assistance to make this process as smooth as possible.

Workshop Details:

Dates and Locations:


July 18: 2pm-6pm at the Lauderhill Towne Center Library

July 24: 2pm-6pm at the Tamarac Community Center

July 26: 2pm-6pm at the South Regional Broward College Library

What to Bring:
  • Social Security Number or Tax Identification Number
  • Driver's license or state ID
  • Federal income tax returns, W-2s, and other records of money earned
  • Bank statements and records of investments (if applicable)
  • Records of untaxed income (if applicable)
  • An FSA ID to sign electronically (if you don't have one, we will assist you in creating it)

Mr. Stoi Donaus, 2nd VP of the Haitian American Chamber of Commerce Inc. (HAAMCC) remarked, "We believe that education is the foundation for a brighter future. These FAFSA workshops are an important step in breaking down financial barriers and making higher education accessible to all students."

The workshops will provide step-by-step assistance with the FAFSA application, addressing common mistakes, maximizing eligible aid, and understanding the types of aid available.
