ANNAPOLIS, Md. - July 15, 2024 - PRLog -- i.g. Burton Subaru Co, Inc. of Glen Burnie believes in making the world a better place and the Subaru Love Promise is our vision of respecting all people and to make a positive impact in their county. Believing in the need to assist housing insecure women, .i.g. Burton challenged Chase Home, Inc. with a matching grant of $5,000 to fund their Women's Eviction Prevention Program (EPP) to prevent eviction of women in Anne Arundel County with the "i.g. Burton Community Match Grant Challenge"  Chase Home successfully raised $5,795  to fund the Women's Rent Eviction Prevention Program for a total of $10,795.

The Chase Home's Women's Rent Eviction Prevention Program in partnership with the Community Legal Services (CLS) Anne Arundel County Eviction Prevention Legal Program allows Chase Home to refer families at risk of eviction due to loss of income to CLS with confidence that they will receive quality legal assistance to stabilize housing for those at high risk of eviction.  CLS attorneys provide free legal aid and negotiate with landlords at the Annapolis and Glen Burnie District Courts to protect the tenant and enable them to stay in their homes.  Chase Home assists their clients by providing funding so that property owners are paid rent in arrears and tenants have an opportunity to get back on their feet.  The outcome for those at risk is overwhelmingly positive and benefits not only the female tenants and their children, but also often benefits the landlords leading to negotiated settlement rather than eviction.

Since late 2021, Chase Home provided housing assistance through their rent eviction prevention programs for a to a total of 132 women and 189 children in Anne Arundel County.  Eighty-seven women who faced eviction were single, head of households with children.  Most of the women's financial hardships arise from recent job loss, loss of spouse, chronic illness, disability and the impact of the COVID-19 public health crisis, contributing to their housing insecurity.  The Chase Home's rent eviction prevention funding programs have made a positive impact on these women's lives.
