Lorraine J Smith Foundation Donates $1M Jamaican to Aid in Hurricane Beryl Relief

 
DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. - July 19, 2024 - PRLog -- In response to the devastating impact of Hurricane Beryl, the Lorraine J. Smith Foundation, in partnership with This is Jamaica and the Global Jamaica Diaspora Council Southern USA, along with the Jamaican Fire Brigade, Sunshine Women's Medical Center, Grocery List Jamaica, and EHAS Inc, is proud to announce the "Hurricane Beryl Relief: Restoring Hope, Rebuilding Futures—Back-to-School and Health Fair."

This initiative aims to provide essential back-to-school supplies, medical checkups, and mental health sessions for children in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica who are facing significant challenges due to the hurricane's destruction. With a generous donation of 1 million Jamaican dollars from the Lorraine J. Smith Foundation and other donations, this event is set to make a lasting impact on the community.

Lorraine Smith, founder of the Lorraine J. Smith Foundation, emphasized the foundation's commitment to aiding those in need, stating, "The foundation is dedicated to enhancing quality of life and making a positive impact on the lives of those most in need."

The event, which is set to take place on Friday, August 9th, 2024, will offer various services and activities to support the affected families:
