Basketball Super League Announces Exciting Updates and Initiatives for Second Season

TORONTO - July 24, 2024 - PRLog -- Las Vegas, NV - The Basketball Super League recently concluded its successful 2nd Annual Team Market Owners meetings on July 17-18 at the elegant Linq Wheel Meeting Rooms in Las Vegas.

The event brought together representatives from all six existing organizations, along with prospective league investors and new potential markets, to discuss the future of the league.

Key decisions made during the meetings include setting a new start date to align with the traditional basketball season. The regular season will commence on or around November 15, 2024, and will conclude by March 31, 2025, with each team playing a balanced schedule of 16 home games and 16 away games against BSL competition. Playoffs are scheduled for April, with official schedules set to be announced by September 1, 2024.

Exciting news for the upcoming season includes the introduction of the North American Cup series, allowing BSL teams to compete against The Basketball League (TBL) teams for a special prize and recognition. Further details about this series will be revealed in due course.

Expansion plans and strategies to enhance the relationship between referees and teams were also discussed at length during the meetings. Several new markets are on the verge of being announced, with all participating markets for the upcoming season set to be finalized by August 15, 2024.

Renowned VP of Basketball Operations for BSL, Ronnie Nunn, will be providing valuable support to all teams, coaches, and management through a daily video review app highlighting key points of emphasis for league referees. Additionally, Nunn will conduct regular calls with coaches to address concerns and explore growth opportunities.

In a bid to improve officiating standards, the league will host its inaugural referee training school during the annual BSL Draft Combine weekend on October 19-20 at a location to be determined.

The meetings concluded on a note of significant optimism and enthusiasm, setting the stage for a promising second year for the league.
