She is a member of the District of Nevada's Criminal Justice Act (CJA) Panel through which she accepts court-appointed federal criminal cases. Gettel also serves on the Board of Directors and performs case work for the Rocky Mountain Innocence Center, a nonprofit organization that provides pro bono post-conviction innocence investigation and litigation services to those who have been wrongfully convicted.
