Mountain View Lutheran Church Announces Installation of New Senior Pastor

AHWATUKEE, Ariz. - Aug. 28, 2024 - PRLog -- Phoenix, AZ

Mountain View Lutheran Church (Phoenix) is pleased to announce the installation of its new Senior Pastor, Pastor Douglas Dill, concluding an almost three-year search.  The installation will take place on Sunday, September 15^th during the 10:30 am worship service.  The church is located at 11002 S. 48^th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85044. This event is open to the entire community, and all are invited to attend and celebrate this special occasion.  A reception will immediately follow in the Family Life Center.  Attendees may make freewill offerings at either the worship service or reception.  No RSVPs are necessary.

Bishop Deborah K. Hutterer will preach and preside.  Attendees will have an opportunity to meet and welcome Pastor Doug, who brings a wealth of experience and a heart for ministry to the congregation.

About Pastor Douglas Dill

Prior to serving Mountain View Lutheran as interim Associate Pastor, Pastor Doug served as Pastor at Central Lutheran in Arizona City. He also served as Pastor for First Lutheran in South Sioux City, NE and Calvary Lutheran in Minong, WI. Pastor Doug has undergraduate degrees in photography and criminal justice. Pastor Doug is a graduate of Wartburg Theological Seminary (Dubuque, IA). While in seminary, he served as pastor for Fulton Community Church, Fulton, IA. Prior to entering seminary, Pastor Doug served as a Deacon for four years at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rolling Meadows, IL. While serving as a Deacon, he executed all the same responsibilities and duties as an Associate Pastor.

Pastor Doug is a "second career" pastor. Prior to receiving a call from God to become a pastor in Christ's church, he held a variety of occupations. Most recently, he spent 16 years in the Information Technology field, where he worked on computers, servers, and VoIP.  Prior to that, he was a police officer for nearly 9 years in two departments in Chicagoland.

Pastor Doug and his wife, Kris, have been married since 1989. They have two children. Travis, born in 1993, lives in NE. Becky, born in 1996, currently resides in WI, is an educator, and was married to her husband Bevan in 2020. They gave birth to their first son in July of 2024.
