Artist Nicole Hanusek to Debut Home Studio at ArtSpan's SF Open StudiosHanusek, who has previously participated in group shows, is stepping into a solo spotlight with this event. "I'm extremely excited to open my art studio from home for the first time," said Hanusek. "Come on up to the terrace for some snacks, beverages, and art." Visitors will have the opportunity to explore Hanusek's whimsical creations, which draw inspiration from children's books, comics, and fantasy. Her work is known for its vivid colors and playful depictions of sea creatures and animals, designed to evoke feelings of joy and nostalgia. You'll find sparkly octopuses, abstract octopuses, colorful dogs, colorful animals, animal butts, San Francisco paintings, original Lazy Bear line drawings, and more. Most of the work is painted in acrylic or watercolor; original paintings, prints, and postcards are available. "Life would be mundane without beauty," Hanusek says in her artist statement. She believes in the transformative power of beauty, citing research that links aesthetically pleasing surroundings to improved well-being. "My art aims to make you smile and take you back to childhood feelings of wonder and joy. Take a moment to ponder those other beings we share this world with; they provide some of the beauty that makes us whole." ArtSpan's SFOS is celebrating 50 years of citywide events that showcase the work of local artists across various neighborhoods. Visit artspan.org/ Event Details:
