PORTLAND, Ore. - Sept. 5, 2024 - PRLog -- Squirm, the next-gen sex education platform for the smart and curious, announces the launch of Porn Nerds, its inaugural podcast. Recognizing the ascendency of internet porn and its influence on our sex lives, for worse and for better, co-founders and show hosts Tessah Joseph and Kelsey Peake explore this controversial topic from all sides.

Founded in 2021, Squirm offers programming on healthy sexual communication skills, positive exploration and personal discovery. A six-part podcast miniseries about pornography—a form of entertainment with billions of monthly visits from around the globe—was a clear no-brainer.

"Given the immense popularity of porn, we know that a smart, nonjudgemental, and playful conversation around pornography will pique the interest of curious listeners," says Joseph, who holds a Masters degree in Sexuality from the University of Amsterdam.

Porn Nerds, which is co-produced by Squirm and BOOM Integrated, the podcast division of GRAMMY-winning audiobook leader John Marshall Media, offers a fresh take on a subject shrouded in stigma, covering topics including porn's role as de facto sex education, what it's like to work in the adult entertainment industry, and how to talk about porn in relationships. The series blends humor, research, guest interviews, and testimonials from everyday people who love porn, loathe porn, or fall somewhere in between.

The 30-minute episodes drop Thursdays starting Sept. 5, 2024 on all major listening platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify (https://open.spotify.com/show/0JoHif1qx2hVfB80qV9kOH?si=9bb717d3ced74796&nd=1&dlsi=4e998c42e14a4c7a), and Amazon Music (https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/6850f4d2-2624-454d-beda-1f7de5400532/porn-nerds).

Among the featured guests are Patricia Nilsson, Financial Times reporter and host of season one the Hot Money podcast; Patrick Bluett, an AASECT-certified sex therapist; and Shine Louise Houston, founding director and producer of Pink and White Productions.

Porn Nerds offers a clear-eyed and open-minded conversation about this controversial form of entertainment that's sometimes sticky and uncomfortable, sometimes pleasurable and transformative.
