Follow on Google News | RVR Horse Rescue is Seeking VolunteersBy: RVR Horse Rescue They are excited to announce that they are now accepting new volunteers after the program was closed for the past ten months due to the relocation. Volunteering begins with a New Volunteer Orientation. The class, a one-and-a-half hour overview and basic training, will occur in early October. Volunteer responsibilities include daily care of the horses, including feed, water, mucking stalls/paddocks, bathing, grooming, and hoof care. Volunteers with horse training or medical skills would also be a bonus. There is a morning and evening shift each day of the week and volunteers can sign up for the shifts of their choice after attending a volunteer orientation. Volunteer orientations are currently being held on weekend afternoons and last about one and one-half hours. "No experience is required except compassion for animals and the willingness to learn and to follow the barn rules," said President Denise Cooke. "Seeing the transformation from defeated and scared to healthy and trusting while they wait for their forever home is a gift. We can't do this without our volunteers and with the relocation, we need volunteers locally in Bradenton." The minimum age to volunteer without a parent or guardian is 16 years of age. Volunteers of age 10 or older may volunteer alongside a parent or guardian. The organization is 100% volunteer owned and operated, so they are also in need of volunteers who can help with administrative tasks, photography/ More information about the volunteer program, as well as the online application, can be found on their website at https://rvrhorserescue.org/ ABOUT RVR Horse Rescue RVR Horse Rescue has been rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming abused and neglected equines in Central Florida and beyond for over 30 years.
