American Legion 597 hosts 4th Annual Chili Cook Off and Silent Auction fundraiser

CARROLLTON, Texas - Sept. 10, 2024 - PRLog -- The American Legion 597, located in Historic Downtown Carrollton, invites the public to attend its 4th Annual Chili Cook Off on September 28, 2024 at 4pm. The event will include a flag ceremony, chili tasting, and silent auction. VIP Judges will include Heather Hays  KDFW Anchor, Jay Wallis WFAA Reporter, and Jennifer Daly, MBA  Mrs. Texas International, Mrs. USA and Mrs. Diamond Universe.

This event is the Legion's largest fundraiser of the year. The event raised over $4000 last year, with a goal of $6000+ for this year. The funds will allow the members to continue their mission to support Veterans, Military, their families, and the community. American Legion 597 Family has donated over 15,000 volunteer hours and more than $20,000 to various Veteran and Community programs and more:  Boys and Girls State, National Veterans Arts Festival, Sweats for Vets, Christmas for Kids, Operation Purple Camp, Cancer Research.
