Coinhitex Uncovers Coordinated Defamation and Extortion Scheme Of Alex Muller (FunZoneNews)

Coinhitex exposes a coordinated defamation and extortion scheme by Alex Muller of FunZoneNews. Muller demanded 500 USDT to remove a fake article. Linked to a scam recovery site, this network targets victims with false recovery promises.

NEW YORK - Sept. 11, 2024 - PRLog -- Coinhitex, a leading cryptocurrency platform since 2018, is issuing this press release to expose a coordinated defamation and extortion attempt by individuals using false identities. A defamatory article titled "Coinhitex.com: A Crypto Fraud Unmasked" was recently published on the website FunZoneNews, authored by "Alex Muller," falsely accusing Coinhitex of fraudulent activities.

Following an internal investigation, it has been discovered that "Alex Muller" is not a legitimate journalist but an alias used by individuals engaged in a web of fraudulent operations. These include the management of both FunZoneNews and the scam website fraud-protection.me. Fraud-protection.me, which operates under the email help@fraud-protection.me, masquerades as a fund recovery service, targeting individuals who have lost money in scams, offering false promises of recovery in exchange for a fee. This recovery scam is a well-known tactic used to exploit victims further, rather than help them.

In addition, our findings show that the administrator of FunZoneNews, operating under the alias "forumone," is yet another identity linked to this network. Posts on the forum are designed to promote fraudulent schemes, including recovery scams that prey on victims by luring them into paying for non-existent services. This deceptive setup is part of a larger pattern of exploitation, and Coinhitex is one of the latest targets.

Extortion Demand: Evidence of Malicious Intent
After Coinhitex's legal team demanded the removal of the defamatory article, we received an email response from a suspicious email address, site_manager_1@zohomail.eu, which was quickly identified as fraudulent. The individual behind the email, posing as "Alex Muller," demanded a ransom of 500 USDT TRC20 in exchange for removing the article from FunZoneNews. This brazen demand not only highlights the malicious intent behind the false article but also underscores the lack of professionalism from those involved. Responding from a fake email account further demonstrates their attempt to cover their tracks and avoid accountability for their actions.

The fact that this ransom demand came from a fraudulent Zoho Mail address confirms that the defamation campaign was not motivated by any journalistic intent but was a deliberate effort to extort Coinhitex under the guise of misinformation. Such extortion attempts show the depths these bad actors will go to discredit legitimate businesses and exploit them for financial gain.

Coinhitex remains committed to providing secure, reliable services to its users, continuing its mission to protect the cryptocurrency space from fraudulent actors.
