Heart-Wrenching Short Film Shenita's Remorse Explores a Mother's Battle with Sobriety and Loss

LOS ANGELES - Sept. 22, 2024 - PRLog -- Los Angeles, California — [Currently in pre-production] — Shenita's Remorse, a powerful new short film, is set to debut next Fall, offering audiences an intimate and heart-wrenching portrayal of a mother's struggle with addiction, loss, and the overwhelming burden of remorse.  Starring Ebony Perry as Shenita and Jamaica Perry as Pam. The film, written by Ebony Perry and Delon Washington, and directed by Ebony Perry.

Synopsis
Shenita, a mother who has battled substance abuse for years, is faced with the unimaginable—her son is gone. Wracked with guilt, she struggles to stay sober in the wake of his death, believing that her addiction played a role in his loss. Through a series of intense and emotional flashbacks, the audience sees Shenita's internal battle as she contemplates her future while drowning in the sorrow of her past.

About the Filmmakers
Ebony Perry is an emerging filmmaker known for her starring portrayal as Muslimah in "Muslimah's Guide to Marriage". This is her first collaborative project with senior producer, Dana Rosario.  Dana is known for her work on the Mediator starring Ice-T, Divorce Court, We the People with Judge Lauren Lake, and the Verdict with Judge Hatchett.  The entire creative team is committed to bringing challenging and important narratives to the screen.
