Among 300 of his peers, friends and family, Commissioner Jack Hirsch of the New York State Boxing Hall of Fame, 'Elegant' Ed Post Esposti, CEO of Spartan Boxing, was presented with a Gold Championship Belt, to commemorate his induction into the prestigious club.  Edward is an icon in the World of Boxing, outfitting Champions with the Spartan Brand of Robes, Trunks, Fight Gear and Activewear for over 65 Years. He is beloved and respected for his many roles; Boxer, Trainer, Referee, Judge, Announcer, Manager, Event Promoter, Writer, Photographer and Commentator in the World of Boxing & Wrestling, and as President of Spartan, since 1983.

Born on the Lower East Side, and raised in Brooklyn, by his Parents, Bruno and Mary Esposti, His Father would let him stay up to listen to Gillette Friday Night Fights, sharing stories about Floyd Patterson, Rocky Marciano, Carmine Basilio & Sugar Ray Robinson. Every day after school, he'd have to defend himself against bullies.  Ed's High School coaches suggested he join the P.A.L. Micceo Center. Boxing became his passion and as suggested by Joe LaGuardia, Ed was trained by Al Arciello & Joe LaGuardia, Sr.

Just as he began climbing the Amateur ranks, he was drafted into the US Army. A Door-Gunner on Assault Helicopters with the First Cavalry Division, Ed had extended duty in Vietnam, receiving the Presidential Unit Citation in 1967. He proudly served under Lt. Colonel James F. Hamlet,  a 2 Star General and Deputy Inspector of the United States Army. Hamlet became Ed's mentor. He returned from Vietnam and began competing in boxing matches, maintaining his Amateur status. He achieved notoriety in the NY State Golden Gloves Championships, representing New York in the US Olympic Trials. The nickname 'Elegant Ed' was given to him by Jack Smith of the Daily News, during his Golden Gloves, for his flashy style.

In 1969, Ed met Al Zimmer, Owner of Spartan Boxing, iconic Sporting Goods & Apparel and was impressed by the reputation Spartan received within the Boxing Industry. Zimmer took Ed under his wing and taught him how to manufacture  products, outfitting Boxing Royalty; Rocky Marciano, Muhammad Ali, Chuck Wepner, George Foreman, Larry Holmes, Emile Griffith, Aaron Pryor, Zab Judah, Iran Barkley, Vito Antuofermo, Mitch Green, Ray Mercer and so many legends, who've worn the Spartan Brand, both in & out of the ring. With custom robes, gloves, trunks, corner & jogging suits, t-shirts, sweatshirts & caps, the history of the SPARTAN Brand is rich, from all who've battled & to those who've emerged victorious throughout the last 65 Years.

In 1970, Edward was appointed as a Narcotic Correction Officer for Rehabilitation Centers for over Seven Years.  He created, developed and implemented the 1st Boxing Program for NY State Correctional Facilities, training inmates the Art of Boxing, Physical Fitness and Morality.  Also Edward became the First Amateur Fighter to become a member of the Ring 8 Veterans Boxing Association.

In 1978, while working with Spartan, promoting the famous World Championship Heavyweight Bout between Muhammad Ali and Chuck Wepner, Edward became a licensed Commodities Associate, selling Gold, Platinum & Silver Futures, then finally opening his own Wall Street Precious Metals, Inc. Ed's charm and class brought him acclaim & success in the Financial Arena. Edward had the privilege of promoting an exhibition Boxing match between Emile Griffith and himself, with proceeds benefiting Gerald Rivera's Life's WORC. Held in Madison Square Garden, was a great success. Ed eventually became President of Wall Street Petroleum Corporation and, at the same time, became Light Heavyweight Champion and King of the N.Y. Athletic Club, recognized in an article appearing in GQ Magazine, May 1985.

With his resources and popularity, Ed became well known for promoting special events & fund raisers for Charitable Organizations, including the Community Mayors of NYC, helping thousands of children with Special Needs. Proud Recipient of the Jose Torres Renaissance Man Award from Ring 10, in 2016, and the Long and Meritorious Service Award from Ring 8 in 2022.  Spartan and Elegant Ed Post is back, and with a rekindled veracity.  On Sunday, September 15th, 2024, Elegant Ed Post Esposti was Inducted into the New York State Boxing Hall of Fame. This achievement has come Two Years after he was awarded a Long & Meritorious Service Award by Ring 8 Veterans Boxing Association.

Now, Edward has He recruited Russell Targove, CEO Request Global Initiatives to assist Marketing, Promotion and Creative Product Development.  Together, they're determined on achieving greatness once again, harnessing the power, heart and glory from all who have proudly worn the Spartan label in the ring.
