Lucy Ingrams Wins The 2024 International Poetry Book Awards

PONTYPRIDD, Wales - Sept. 30, 2024 - PRLog -- "Once again, we have seen a range of deeply moving and powerful collections, evidencing profound commitment and talent. Subjects ranged widely: politics, war, inhumanity and injustice, history, trauma, the environment, sex and sexual identity, art and artistry; the list goes on," said judge, Welsh poet Mick Evans.

The Poetry Book Awards is an annual, international book award given to the best poetry books produced by indie writers, self published authors or books published by small, truly independent presses.

"Most of the top book prizes and competitions do not allow self-published authors to enter. If they are allowed then many are extremely expensive leaving self-published authors struggling to find the recognition they deserve. We offer true equality," says awards organizer Dave Lewis.

Winner, Lucy Ingrams, has had work published in many magazines and journals, most recently Poetry Ireland Review and Agenda. She won the Manchester Poetry Prize in 2015 and the Magma Poetry Competition in 2016.
