Follow on Google News | Distributed AI Rescue Robots: A New Hope for Saving LivesBy: Dr. Lu's Studio However, no one is willing to invest in unprofitable ventures. At present, only Dr. Hung-Chih Lu is self-funding his commitment to public welfare. His groundbreaking invention—distributed AI robots—mirrors his earlier innovation of silicon photonics in 1999, which faced skepticism at the time but gained prominence in 2024. This 25 years have proven him right, and he believes that his distributed AI robots will eventually be realized after many years. Previously, he unveiled a distributed AI architectural robot; now he introduces the "distributed AI rescue robot" designed for emergency situations. The digital twin show in Figure 1 showcases its design, featuring a skeleton made from 7075 aluminum alloy, which has a hardness comparable to stainless steel but weighs only one-third as much and has a thermal conductivity of 130 W/mK, significantly higher than that of stainless steel. This ensures effective heat dissipation for the AI computer. Given the nature of rescue operations where air cooling is impractical, it employs Dr. Lu's previously disclosed invention—a nano-carbon liquid cooling system—to reduce the heat and overall weight. The outer shell is made from stainless steel to lower costs while providing excellent corrosion and wear resistance, protecting internal structures and electronic components from environmental damage. https://drive.google.com/ The robot's feet utilize a modified vacuum suction cup structure, with small electric actuators connected above the joystick and at the calf. This setup allows for electronic control of the actuator's extension and retraction through binary signals ("0" and "1"), enabling the vacuum cups to switch between releasing and adhering states, allowing gradual movement up vertical surfaces. Another feature of the distributed AI robot is its drone-based visual system, which includes life detection capabilities alongside panoramic cameras, infrared imaging, sonar detection, optical imaging, and radar detection. During rescue operations, as illustrated in Figure 2, two robots collaborate by gripping either end of a lifting platform while the rescued individual stands on it. With assistance from the drone visual system, they can safely descend to the ground, rescuing those trapped. https://drive.google.com/ Dr. Hung-Chih Lu excels in original creations from 0 to 1.always working alone, unlike Leonardo da Vinci who had assistants. Only then can people truly enjoy the benefits and welfare brought by decentralized AI robots. However, society tends to idolize tech billionaires, judging corporate success based on revenue and stock prices. Looking at the example of silicon photonics, such a day may take a long time to arrive. End
