Smile Foundation declared Best Organisation of the Year in CSR Implementation

BANGALORE, India - Oct. 1, 2024 - PRLog -- Smile Foundation receives the "Best Organisation of the Year in CSR Implementation" award at the Bharat CSR & Sustainability Conclave.

The accolade was for iTrain on Wheels programme. Since 2021, Berger Paints India Ltd. has partnered with Smile Foundation for the said programme to enhance the earning and entrepreneurial potential of paint applicators across India.

The iTrain on Wheels programme stands out for its multifaceted approach to paint applicators' training and empowerment. While focusing on technical skills development, it also places a significant emphasis on soft skills training, recognizing the importance of effective communication and interpersonal skills in the paints industry. Additionally, the programme's focus on entrepreneurial skills development highlights its commitment to not only enhancing painters' technical abilities but also equipping them with the business acumen needed to succeed as independent contractors or business owners.

Since 2021, as many as 2,63,700 paint applicators have been trained under iTrain on Wheels programme across the country, free of cost. At present 23 mobile iTrain projects are operational in 25 states and 3 UTs. We are covering 443 districts, out of which 51 are aspirational districts.

Each iTrain on Wheels mobile unit is equipped with audio-visual tools, practical training booths and mechanized equipment to demonstrate the painting process more efficient, quicker, cleaner and safer manner. The faculty consists of certified and experienced trainers with industry knowledge and technical competency.

The courses cover theoretical and practical knowledge as well as entrepreneurial and soft skills. Trainees receive both theoretical and practical training in new techniques along with the use of mechanized equipment.

Special modules on wood polishing, decorative painting, and body language are also taught during the trainings.
