Global Learning Charter Public School Student Cristian Rivera Completes National History Academy

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. - Oct. 3, 2024 - PRLog -- Global Learning Charter Public School (GLCPS) student Cristian Rivera was awarded a scholarship to attend the 4 week National History Academy Summer Program in Virginia.

Rivera was awarded the scholarship and accepted into the program following a competitive selection process. The summer academy offered an immersive educational experience that included historical site visits, Harvard Business School Case method discussions, parliamentary debate, guest speakers, and more. He was one of 90 students selected from across the country.

"Cristian will bring his new knowledge and experience back to our academic community to share with his fellow students. This has been a wonderful opportunity for one of our lifelong learning students."

Open to New Bedford residents, Global Learning Charter Public School (GLCPS) is a tuition-free public charter school that currently serves 500 students in grades 5-12. Launched in 2002 as a Horace Mann charter school, GLCPS became a Commonwealth charter school in 2006.
