FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. - Oct. 18, 2024 - PRLog -- Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach has announced that Fins Up! Beach Club will reopen just in time for the weekend, on Friday, Oct. 4 at 11 a.m. Margaritaville Beach Resort staff and employees have worked around the clock following Hurricane Helene to remove an estimated two to three million pounds of sand that washed into the 15,000-square-foot pool and pool deck from storm surge.

Beginning on Friday, Oct. 4, everything you love about Margaritaville Beach Resort, including the expansive sundeck, pool, private cabanas and poolside service, will be available to resort guests with their stay and to day pass guests at a special rate of $20 this Friday through Sunday only. Passes are available online or at the Fins Up entrance gate. Additionally, live entertainment resumes daily 1-5 p.m. with DJ Cease on Friday; DJ 007 on Saturday; and DJ Andy on Sunday. Margaritaville Beach Resort is inviting the community to celebrate the resiliency of Southwest Florida and book a visit today at MargaritavilleBeachResortFMB.com. The island is actively working on the Fort Myers Beach renourishment project, also known as the Estero Island Shoreline Protection Project, that will help reduce storm surge impacts such as those caused by Hurricane Helene. These efforts to restore the beach after Hurricane Ian began in August by dredging approximately 1-million cubic yards of sand offshore to construct an engineer designed beach. When it's completed, the project will add an estimated 225 feet of beach in front of the resort.

"The resort was intentionally designed for enhanced safety and durability in challenging conditions and specifically engineered to manage water flow during storms like Hurricane Helene," said Tom Torgerson, owner of TPI Hospitality, which owns and operates Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach. "The resort was well-prepared for its first hurricane, and the entire team participated in advanced storm preparation across the entertainment complex, including effectively securing exterior furniture and fixtures. Overall, Margaritaville Fort Myers Beach sustained minimal damage and remained operational throughout the storm. Our proactive approach allowed us to navigate the storm effectively, ensuring the safety and comfort of our guests."
