AUSTIN, Texas - Oct. 7, 2024 - PRLog -- An award-winning film team is launching a groundbreaking mental health initiative alongside the release of their documentary SPYRAL. This initiative aims to enhance mental health awareness by offering attendees of in-person screenings, free access to mental health support directly following the film. The film screening will take place on October 23, 2024, from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM at the Galaxy Theatres Austin, 6700 Middle Fishville Road, Austin, Texas 78752.

Directed by two-time Oscar winner Bill Guttentag, produced by Austin local Jennifer Hutchins and narrated by actress Michelle Trachtenberg (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), SPYRAL chronicles an Austin based family's thirteen-year journey through bipolar disorder using raw home videos, diaries, and social media posts. The documentary serves as a powerful tool to spark conversations about mental health and reduce stigma.

The film team has secured funding with Legacy Lifeline Foundation, a nonprofit organization partnering with All Entertainment Business (AEB) to provide audience members with immediate access to mental health support following each private screening of an approved film. This pilot program offers eligible attendees paid-for sessions with leading digital mental health providers across the USA.

The co-founder of Legacy Lifeline Foundation Scott Hauck said, "Our goal is to lower the barrier for those who may have trouble asking for help. By combining impactful storytelling with immediate access to care, we're creating a unique pathway to servicing a gap in current mental health solutions."

Jennifer Hutchins, the award-winning producer behind SPYRAL, said "This is more than a documentary—it's a call to action. We want to empower families to start conversations and seek help now."

The screenings are especially timely — coinciding with World Mental Health Day on October 10th and selected as NAMI Texas' opening ceremony film screening at the 40th Annual NAMI Texas convention in El Paso this November.
