PRLog -- This year's October's Halloween celebrations wouldn't be complete without a little frightening music from the Michigan Philharmonic. Michigan's premiere regional orchestra conjures up a night of seasonal fun in Northville this month.
Scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 19 starting at 7:30 p.m., the "Phil Phright Night" includes a rich blend of music for young and old alike and features a pair of vocalists, Noelle Jacquez and Lauren Norris. The spooky performance will be held at the Marquis Theatre.
Led by Music Director and Conductor Nan Washburn, the Philharmonic will present music that is both haunting and quirky music to help celebrate "All Hallows' Eve." And who knows what lurks backstage, only to be revealed when Washburn makes her annual costumed entrance.
Music planned for the evening includes:
- "Orpheus in the Underworld Overture" (1858) Jacques Offenbach
- "Chocolat" (2000) Rachel Portman
- "Phantom of the Opera" Selections (1986) Andrew Lloyd Webber
- Complete Harry Potter John Williams, Alexandre Desplat, Patrick Doyle, Nicholas Hooper
- "For Good" from "Wicked" (2003) Stephen Schwartz
- "King Kong Soundtrack" highlights (2005) James Newton Howard
- "Ghostbusters" (1984) Ray Parker Jr.
Expect a few other tricks and treats that night as well. Tickets are available online at the Philharmonic's website: michiganphil.org.
