Emmy Award-Winning Air Force Band's Woodwind Ensemble Announces Kansas City Area Performances

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Oct. 23, 2024 - PRLog -- The US Air Force Band of Mid-America's Midwest Winds Quintet will give a series of public concerts in the  Kansas City area. The concerts include:

• 11 November, 2:00 PM, Missouri Veterans Home - Warrensburg (1300 Veterans Road, Warrensburg, MO 64093)
• 12 November, 7:00 PM, Raymore-Peculiar HS, Performing Arts Center (20801 South School Rd, Peculiar, MO 64078)

Admission to these performances is FREE and open to the public, and no tickets are required. These are family-friendly, all-ages events.

The Midwest Winds Quintet was recently featured in the Band of Mid-America's 2021 "Spirit of the Season" holiday television program, which aired on over 30 TV stations across the Midwest. The holiday special won the NATAS Mid-America Regional Emmy for Arts & Entertainment Long-Form Content. The United States Air Force Band of Mid-America represents the professionalism and excellence found every day throughout the United States Air Force. During this concert you will hear many of your holiday favorites played by groups ranging in size and genre from our smaller quintets to our jazz band and concert band. All musicians are stationed at Scott AFB in Illinois.

Midwest Winds Quintet

The Midwest Winds Quintet is a performing ensemble from the United States Air Force Band of Mid-America. Stationed at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, the ensemble honors and inspires our military and civilian audiences by presenting a wide variety of musical literature, from traditional, classical repertoire to marches and jazz.

The Midwest Winds Quintet also supports music students, providing concerts and clinics in an educational environment. Each program blends inspiration and entertainment, with special programming for younger audiences.

USAF Band of Mid-America

The United States Air Force Band of Mid-America is the principal musical ambassador of Headquarters Air Mobility Command. These talented Air Force musicians have had the distinction of performing for Pope John Paul II, Presidents George W. Bush, William J. Clinton, George H.W. Bush, and Jimmy Carter, the Queen of the Netherlands, and hundreds of other US and foreign leaders. The band performs free civic outreach and recruiting concerts for audiences throughout the Midwest, playing more than 400 engagements each year. Each year, band members perform live for hundreds of thousands of people, and for millions more on television and radio broadcasts.
