Criminal Complaint Filed, DOJ Then Warns Musk of Felony

Paying Registered Voters in Key States Illegal - Four Law Professors

WASHINGTON - Oct. 23, 2024 - PRLog -- Following the filing of a formal criminal complaint with the U.S. Attorney General and the Criminal Division of the Department of Justice that Elon Musk and his America PAC had committed violations of 52 U.S.C. 10307(c), the Justice Department's public integrity section, which investigates potential election-related law violations, sent a letter to his PAC warning that awarding $1 million to registered voters who signed a
petition (https://petition.theamericapac.org/) might violate federal laws against paying voters.

The formal criminal complaint was filed by public interest law professor John Banzhaf.  It was Banzhaf's formal legal complaint which triggered the criminal investigation in Georgia which led to the indictment of former president Donald Trump on multiple RICO felony counts.

The activist law professor also played a role in having former president Richard Nixon investigated by special prosecutors, and in derailing Hunter Biden's "sweetheart" plea deal.

At least three other law professors who independently analyzed Musk's offer to pay a million dollars to persons who were registered to vote in several swing states also concluded that his actions violated a federal felony statute which provides that offenders may be "imprisoned not more than five years" for each and every separate violation.

Of the four law professors, only Banzhaf filed a formal legal complaint.
