The benefit, sponsored by Blackthorne Resort, on November 8th to raise funds to offset the immense costs Charity now bears alone. On September 10th, the couple's life changed forever when a suspected drunk driver struck with their motorcycle. After six weeks in the ICU, Hammer tragically succumbed to his injuries, leaving behind friends and family worldwide who remember him as a gifted rider and generous spirit who always found ways to make others smile. Charity continues to face the impact of the accident, having endured over 14 surgeries, including the loss of a leg and a broken pelvis. The financial burden of this tragedy is immense, and the costs threaten to overshadow Charity's recovery and rehabilitation. The Blackthorne Resort benefit features a live auction with high-value items generously donated by the community, including two motorcycles, a 65" television, and an outdoor shed. There will also be a Chinese auction with baskets and four amazing raffle prizes. All proceeds go toward medical expenses, rehabilitation, and other essential support for Charity as she navigates this new reality without Hammer. "Our hearts are heavy, but we're united in support for Charity," says Patty Handel, a friend of the Sutherlands and an organizer of the event. "Craig and Charity's love was inspirational; Hammer, a Canadian, made a name for himself in competitive motorcycle circles, traveling extensively, often with Charity by his side, and touching lives across the U.S., Canada, and beyond. His fearless spirit, love for animals, and magnetic personality earned him countless friends who now mourn this unimaginable loss. Hammer was larger than life—a man who would offer the shirt off his back to anyone in need. As the legal case against the alleged drunk driver unfolds, the need to support Charity has become even more urgent. Despite the profound challenges, the community is committed to ensuring that Craig's legacy lives on through this outpouring of compassion and generosity. Let's come together to honor Hammer's life and lift up Charity in her journey ahead. https://www.facebook.com/ End
