Saving Smiles Achieves Tax-Exempt Status

Saving Smiles is Excited to Celebrate their Approval for Tax-Exempt Status

ATLANTA - Nov. 4, 2024 - PRLog -- Saving Smiles, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving oral health outcomes for children of underserved communities, is pleased to announce that it has officially been granted tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. This designation is a significant milestone for Saving Smiles, enabling the organization to expand its reach and impact by allowing donors to make tax-deductible contributions.

Saving Smiles was founded in 2023 with the mission to ensure that every child, regardless of their socio-economic background, has the opportunity to reach their full potential and is freed from the burden caused by poor oral health. Since its inception, the organization has provided educational workshops and community outreach services to children and communities across the region.

"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to better serve communities in need," said Joni Cruz-Amolsch, Executive Director of Saving Smiles. "With this designation, we can expand our programs, reach more children, and ultimately make a greater impact on oral health outcomes for generations to come."

Benefits of Tax-Exempt Status
The approval of tax-exempt status provides several key advantages to Saving Smiles, including:
Eligibility for Public and Private Grants: The organization can apply for funding opportunities that are only available to tax-exempt entities.
Tax-Deductible Donations: Contributions from individual and corporate donors are now tax-deductible, encouraging more generous giving.
Reduced Postal Rates: Savings on mailing costs allows more resources to be directed towards program services.

Looking Forward
With this new status, Saving Smiles plans to launch several initiatives in the coming year, including:
  • Medical Practice Training & Support: Bringing dental services directly to communities that lack access to care.
  • School-Based Programs: Partnering with local schools to provide on-site dental screenings and oral health education.
  • Volunteer Opportunities: Expanding volunteer programs to involve more community members in service delivery.

Saving Smiles is grateful for the support of its volunteers, donors, and partners who have made this achievement possible. The organization looks forward to continuing its mission of saving smiles and changing lives through improved oral health.
