Follow on Google News | Fleewinter Enters the Himalayan Kingdom of BhutanBy: Fleewinter The country's highly authentic and untouched culture is one of the best preserved, and arguably one of the least influenced in the world. Cliffside monasteries, forested hiking trails with valley views, festivals where traditions create indelible memories, the chance to escape into natural beauty and disconnect from the outside world, whatever it is that inspires you to visit Bhutan, you won't be disappointed. Initially, there is a choice of six recommended itineraries, with accommodation options from luxurious boutique resorts to basic, but comfortable lodges, and simple shelters on treks. There's more to Bhutan than the Tiger's Nest and it can be tough to know whether to go beyond Paro, Thimphu, and Punakha and, if so, how to choose where to go. All Fleewinter holidays are completely personalised, and recommended itineraries can be tweaked, depending on requirements. Introduction to Bhutan (https://www.fleewinter.com/ This itinerary is a perfect introduction to Bhutan. Spend two nights each in the capital of Thimphu, the Punakha valley, and the fertile area of Paro. You'll get a taste of the natural beauty, unique character, and rich history of this mountain kingdom with no internal flights. The holiday costs from £3140 pp (two sharing). This includes six nights' accommodation with meals, entrance fees, land transfers, guide for excursions, visa, and Bhutan Sustainable Development Fee. Moderate Hiking in Bhutan (https://www.fleewinter.com/ Nestled in the heart of the Himalayas, much of Bhutan is best explored on foot. Temples, monasteries, and untouched nature await the intrepid hiker and, because of the high altitudes, it's best to spend a few days in Nepal acclimating and to keep Tiger's Nest for the end of the holiday once adjusted to the thinner air (Nepal accommodation included in the price). There is a combination of day hikes with one overnight trek to a camp, and a chance to descend to the Tiger's Nest. Some hikes mean leaving the luggage with the driver whilst walking from one village to the next with a day pack, overnighting in a simple guesthouse or meeting the driver on a mountain pass. On one of the non-hiking days, there's a chance to try white-water rafting. The holiday costs from £6200 pp (two sharing), which includes 18-nights' B&B (plus other meals as detailed on the itinerary), return flights between Kathmandu and Paro, domestic flight (Paro to Bumthang), private transfers, entrance fees, guide for excursions, Bhutan visa and Bhutan Sustainable Development Fee. International flights for all trips not included (bookable through Fleewinter).
