PRLog -- Winstonville, Mississippi – The Winstonville Community Foundation (WCF) is proud to announce its designation as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, a key milestone in its mission to enhance the quality of life for Winstonville residents and surrounding communities. This federal tax-exempt status enables WCF to expand its outreach, attract funding, and strengthen its efforts to drive meaningful local change.
WCF is also preparing to launch three impactful programs on September 1, 2025, addressing essential needs in
Economic Empowerment,
Education & Youth Development, and
Community Well-being.
"This achievement is a turning point for our foundation,"
said Joel Winston, WCF's Executive Director. "The 501(c)(3) status unlocks vital resources and partnerships, allowing us to invest more deeply in our community's future. We're excited to launch programs that reflect our commitment to sustainable growth and empowerment."
Upcoming Programs - Economic Empowerment Initiative
This program will support financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and workforce development by providing hands-on training, micro-loans, and grants. Local partnerships will offer mentorship and resources to help participants, especially underserved residents, build financial stability and thriving businesses. - Technology Education & Youth Development Program
The Technology Education & Training Center will equip youth aged 14-24 with digital skills like coding, web development, and digital literacy. Partnering with schools and tech organizations, the program aims to bridge the digital divide and prepare young people for high-demand careers. - Community Well-being Initiative
Targeting low-income families, seniors, and food-insecure individuals, this program will provide wellness checks, nutritional support, and access to healthcare. Plans include a community garden, mental health workshops, and seasonal health screenings to foster a resilient and healthy community.
