Daniel Roebuck Brings Christmas Magic to Life as Santa, Saint Nick, and ScroogeBy: Surry Arts Council Roebuck's theatrical journey with holiday tales dates back to Miracle on 9th Street, his first produced play, which paid homage to Miracle on 34th Street. His Christmas-themed credits have since expanded to include co-producing and starring in the animated film Christmas is Here Again and a memorable role opposite Grumpy Cat in Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever. "From the very beginning, I knew Daniel Roebuck had to be our Santa Claus for Saint Nick of Bethlehem," says Spencer Folmar, co-writer and co-director of the film. "His ability to bring authenticity, warmth, and a touch of humanity to every role he plays is unmatched. Daniel embodies the heart and soul of Saint Nick—a man of conviction, kindness, and love for his community. There was no second choice; he was perfect to bring this heartfelt story to life." "Christmas stories have always resonated with me," Roebuck said. "They offer a blend of hope, redemption, and nostalgia that never fails to connect with audiences." Fans can experience Roebuck's portrayal of Scrooge in Mount Airy from Dec. 13-20. The production, directed by Tyler Matanick and presented by the Surry Arts Council, promises a fresh yet faithful take on Dickens' classic tale. Roebuck describes his role as "a celebration of transformation and the power of goodwill—perfect for the season." In tandem with his theatrical endeavors, Roebuck continues to delight moviegoers in Saint Nick of Bethlehem, currently in theaters. Co-Directed by Spencer Folmar, this film showcases Roebuck in the titular role, blending charm and wisdom in a modern retelling of Saint Nicholas's story. Roebuck will also appear as Santa during a special event at SteelStacks in Bethlehem, PA on Dec. 8th.
