Brooklyn Band The Upstart Crows release first single from upcoming EP -- "Housefire"

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Dec. 17, 2024 - PRLog -- NEW YORK CITY |  Brooklyn Alternative Rock band The Upstart Crows are back with new music. The first single from their upcoming EP is called "Housefire" and is a figurative nod to the frustrations of the creative process.

"Housefire" was written during the pandemic, when lead vocalist and principal songwriter Jon Adams was struggling to come up with a theme for the song. That frustration was multiplied when his main collaborator quit the band. It then  became a song about what happens to the creative process when you start doubting everything -- including your own taste. The song sat on the shelf awhile. Eventually, Jon teamed up with Aaron and Adam, and they decided to record the song themselves.

The end result is a song that's definitely evocative of past Upstart Crows music.

The single is the first from the upcoming EP, which will be released in Spring '25.

The new EP will surprise old fans and generate new ones with their adept ability to blend genres, but always deliver memorable songs.

The Upstart Crows pull from a range of influences, delivering everything from haunting singer-songwriter tunes to captivating full-band performances. Combining alternative rock, folk and Americana styles, often with a twinge of punk and rockabilly influences, they keep listeners on their toes with heartfelt, deeply honest performances.

ABOUT THE UPSTART CROWS:

The Upstart Crows is an alternative rock act from Brooklyn that plays in and around NYC as both a haunting solo acoustic act or a loud bombastic rock band. With their combination of folk, punk and Americana style; it promises that whatever Crow show you go to you are gonna have a good time.

In 2024, they began Touring the NE, and most recently played a 3 day Festival in New Paltz, NY in late October.

Their single release show for "House Fire" will be on November 22 at Bar Freda in Ridgewood, NY. The performance will be part of a larger Benefit for the NYC based Non profit The Alive Inside Foundation.

Spring 2025 will include the release of the 2nd single, the EP in March, and Touring the Eastern US for the remainder of the year.
