BIEA Champions Youth Voices in STEM Education and Sustainability on Global Platforms

A Global Presence: World Internet Conference, Wuzhen, China

Last month, BIEA attended the prestigious World Internet Conference 2024, Wuzhen, China, an international gathering of tech experts and innovators. Representing the youth voice, BIEA highlighted how young people are using STEM to address pressing sustainability challenges. Dr David Lamper, Chairman of BIEA, participated as a panellist at the Charity Forum hosted by the CIDF, emphasising the critical need to balance technological advancement with the well-being of future generations.

"While technology is a powerful tool for progress, we must ensure it supports mental health and resilience, particularly among young people," Dr Lamper stated, reinforcing BIEA's commitment to holistic education.

Inspiring Conservation Efforts: London New Year's Day Parade

BIEA is also thrilled to announce its participation in the London New Year's Day Parade 2025, a high-profile event broadcast to millions worldwide. This year, BIEA will showcase inspiring projects in animal conservation submitted by students from around the globe. Selected finalists will represent countries across four continents, highlighting innovative approaches to protecting endangered species and fostering sustainability.

Children from Westminster Borough will join BIEA to bring these conservation projects to life through vibrant costumes and creative displays. The parade serves as a celebration of young people's ingenuity and a powerful reminder of the role they play in shaping a sustainable future.

BIEA is proud to officially launch its 2025 International STEM Competition, themed "Feast Forward". The competition challenges young minds to address one of the world's most urgent issues: feeding a growing global population while minimising environmental impact. Focus areas include sustainable agriculture, food security, biodiversity conservation, and climate change.

The Feast Forward competition builds on BIEA's mission to empower young people with STEM skills, encouraging them to develop innovative, real-world solutions to global challenges.
