Manisa Municipality Confers Cagri Kanver with Honorary Citizenship

MIAMI - Dec. 26, 2024 - PRLog -- Manisa, Turkiye - In a formal ceremony, the Manisa Municipality conferred honorary citizenship upon famous entrepreneur Çağrı Kanver. The mayor himself, Ferdi Zeyrek, granted the award to Mr. Kanver for his work on the development of Manisa and providing opportunities for foreign investment.

The ceremony was held at the municipality headquarters with the participation of prominent guests including businessmen Süleyman Kosif and Hasan Kosif and film producer Onur Yaprakçı. Mayor Zeyrek said that Mr. Kanver was born in Manisa, grew up here, completed his high school, and then went to the USA for higher education. The title was officially given after the decision taken in the Municipality Council in July.
The mayor, during the presentation, praised Mr. Kanver's vision for bridging the gap between Manisa and the United States for the sake of the development process as follows: "Çağrı Kanver showed great willingness to work for his hometown. He also promised to bring in investors and projects contributing to the improvement of infrastructure in Manisa both in economic and social life. This honorary citizenship is but a small token of our gratitude for his efforts so far and our belief in the continued positive impact he has on our community.

Mayor Zeyrek emphasized that with his connections and experience in the U.S., Mr. Kanver would be an important partner in contributing to the development of Manisa. "Manisa needs investors like you," he said during the ceremony. "Your investments will bring great value to our city. We will support all investments aimed at transforming Manisa into a livable city, instead of being in the shadow of İzmir.

The mayor further reiterated the municipality's support of new ventures by solving their problems in the realms of zoning regulations, infrastructure development, and job creation. In his vision, he told them how he wants Manisa to turn into a centre of pioneering projects and sustainable development in five years' time.

Çağrı Kanver received the honor, "Manisa has a special place in my heart, even though I have lived abroad for 30 years. "The city has grown tremendously, and I am very eager to play an active role in its continued progress. I will be encouraging all my business partners, particularly from the U.S., to invest in Manisa. As a matter of fact, tomorrow, the discussions for the first investment project will begin.
