JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jan. 7, 2025 - PRLog -- PulteGroup's Northeast Florida Division has officially broken ground on a new mortgage-free home for U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Antwian Cooper, a two-time Purple Heart recipient, at the Centex community of Wells Landing. For more than a decade, PulteGroup, one of the nation's largest homebuilders, has donated new homes to veterans injured during their service and their families through its Built to Honor® Program. Sergeant Cooper received the life-changing news in October that he had been selected as the newest recipient of a Built to Honor home and this build marks the fourth home dedicated in Northeast Florida through the program.

"It is truly a privilege for our team to build this home for Sergeant Cooper and thank him for his bravery and service to our country," said Justin Cook, PulteGroup's Northeast Florida Division President. "Wells Landing is the perfect place for the Cooper family to call home. We are honored to build a home for Antwian and his family that is fully accessible and will improve his quality of life."

The Wells Landing location offers easy access to the St. Johns River and Ringhaver Park, and is near shopping, dining and services. The Centex home is being built specifically for the family and is designed to meet all of Sergeant Cooper's needs.

A father of five, Sergeant Cooper joined the U.S. Army because he wanted to provide a better life for his family, to serve his country, and fight for everyone who was lost during the terrorist attacks on 9/11. He served with distinction in the U.S. Army, completing five deployments – three to Afghanistan and two to Iraq. After serving his country for over 11 years, he was honorably and medically retired in October 2016. During his years of service, Sergeant Cooper was exposed to many challenging and life-changing experiences, which have affected both his physical and mental health.

The home is being built in partnership with Building Homes for Heroes®, a national non-profit organization strongly committed to rebuilding lives and supporting the brave men and women who were injured while serving our country's armed forces.
