White Girl to share original poem at "The Dream" A Living Exhibit and Tribute to MLK

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Jan. 13, 2025 - PRLog -- Entrepreneur and poet, Melissa Whiteford St. Clair, Founder of White Girl Advocacy LLC is proud to announce she will be reading an original poem from her second book of poetry, "Heart Work A Heart-Centered Collection of Poems" as part of the "THE DREAM" A LIVING EXHIBIT AND TRIBUTE TO MLK which is part of the Unity Weekend sponsored by Google and powered by UBCTV Network being held on Monday, January 20, 2025 at McAlister Square Center, 225 S. Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, SC 29607. The exhibit opens at 12:00 noon with the poetry reading scheduled for 2:30 pm.

"The Dream" exhibit is a display of a rare photos and images of Dr. King's most memorable moments all in one room. On this day the community will come together in solidarity and unity to commence the Unity Weekend in Greenville, South Carolina. This symbolic pictorial exhibit and tribute represents our collective commitment to honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy and promoting unity among our communities. Join us as we embark on this meaningful journey towards fostering togetherness and celebrating the spirit of Dr. King's teachings."

On January 20, 2025, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday will mark the 30th anniversary as a National Day of Service.

About Melissa Whiteford St. Clair:

Founder of White Girl Advocacy, Melissa Whiteford St. Clair found herself emotionally affected by the rise of social injustice in the U.S. She shares her message of unity and social justice through interactive advocacy workshops, antiracism efforts, poetry readings, and talks. Melissa has published two books of poetry "Home Work A Collection of Poems Sparked by One White Woman's Journey on the Matter of Race" and "Heart Work A Heart-Centered Collection of Poems" and "White Girl Homework," a self-guided workbook. She is also a contributing poet to the "South Carolina Bards Poetry Anthology" 2023, 2024 and "Finding Common Ground Leaning In To Listen." She was named the "Rise and Shine: What American Means To Me" State Winner by the South Carolina Society of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) with the entry of a photo and accompanying poem.
