BOSTON - Jan. 16, 2025 - PRLog -- The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced on January 10 the extension of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Sudan, Ukraine, and Venezuela for an additional 18 months. This decision reflects the ongoing conflicts and humanitarian crises in these countries, preventing individuals from safely returning to their homes.

"The extension of TPS provides crucial protection and stability for individuals from Sudan, Ukraine, and Venezuela who have been displaced by conflict and cannot safely return to their home countries," said Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas. "We recognize the hardships these individuals face, and we are committed to providing them with the opportunity to live and work safely in the United States."

This extension means that eligible individuals from Sudan, Ukraine, and Venezuela will be able to maintain their TPS status and work authorization for an additional 18 months. Current beneficiaries must re-register within the designated time limit to ensure their continued eligibility.
