Follow on Google News | Ocean County to Conduct 2025 Point-in-Time Count of Homeless PopulationOcean County's Homeless Prevention and Assistance Coalition (HPAC) will conduct its annual Point-in-Time (PIT) Count from January 29 to February 4, 2025.
By: Ocean County’s Ending Homelessness Group Organized outreaches during the PIT Count will provide participants with access to food, clothing, essential services, and valuable resources. Community members and organizations are encouraged to contribute by donating items such as non-perishable food, clothing, and toiletries. These donations will support individuals and families experiencing homelessness during the count. The data collected will inform local and state strategies to combat homelessness, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to those in need. In previous years, the PIT Count has highlighted areas requiring attention; for instance, Toms River reported the highest number of homeless individuals in Ocean County, with 169 people accounting for a significant portion of the county's homeless population.
