Free Medical Assisting Class with Phlebotomy and EKG Training for Qualifying Redwood City Residents

 
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - Feb. 5, 2025 - PRLog -- Bay Area Medical Academy is offering a free* medical assisting class incorporating phlebotomy and EKG training for twenty qualifying Redwood City residents. This exceptional opportunity allows individuals to gain the necessary skills to become a medical assistant and kick-start their careers in the thriving healthcare industry.

Starting March 10th, 2025, this comprehensive nine-month class provides hands-on training, equipping students with essential skills needed in today's healthcare environments. From drawing blood to performing EKG tests, the course prepares students for multiple aspects of medical assisting. Best of all, thanks to a Community Development Block Grant, this class is offered at no cost to eligible Redwood City residents.

Course Highlights:
  • Medical Assisting: Master essential clinical and administrative tasks in healthcare settings.
  • Phlebotomy: Learn safe blood collection techniques and prepare for certification.
  • EKG: Understand the operation and interpretation of electrocardiograms.
Successful students will receive three certifications as part of the class: National Certified Medical Assistant; Certified EKG Technician, CET; and California Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT-1) / National Certified Phlebotomy Technician.

Class Eligibility Requirements
This class is open to Redwood City residents who meet specific qualifications and will be held both in Redwood City and at the Bay Area Medical Academy San Francisco campus (both in-person and online). Interested individuals are encouraged to apply early to secure their spot as spaces are limited to twenty qualifying applicants.

Applicants for the class must:
  • Be a Redwood City resident.
  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Be low to moderate income.
  • Have a high school diploma or GED (NB: those people with a completed bachelor's degree or higher education do not qualify).
  • Have at least one full course vaccination for COVID-19.
