Oo La Lab Announces Selected Creatives for its Artist-in-Residence Program

SINGAPORE - Feb. 10, 2025 - PRLog -- Niche fragrance brand Oo La Lab announces the selected artists for its inaugural Artist-in-Residence program in Singapore and Dubai. This program, designed to foster creativity and collaboration between artists and the world of scent, will run from February 10 to May 10, 2025.

After a highly competitive open call, Oo La Lab has chosen two exceptional artists to embark on this residency:

• Singapore Residency. Ben Ong, a Creative Director at Wild Studio and Mix Media Visual Artist, will explore "Animal Instinct" through the underutilized medium of scent. His project aims to create an immersive experience that bridges the gap between sight, smell, and emotion, inviting the audience to engage both their visual and olfactory senses. Ben's concept celebrates raw, unfiltered creative energy, uncovering the hidden connections between scent, instinct, and the art of creation.
  
  
• Dubai Residency. Maisoon Al Saleh, an Artist and Author, will bring her perspective to the world of scent at the Oo La Lab Dubai. Al Saleh's work has appeared in various exhibitions in the UAE, including Art Dubai and Emirati Expression at Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi, and internationally in locations such as the Macedonian Museum (Greece), Palazzo TE Museum (Italy), Centro Cultural CajaGRANADA Memoria de (Spain), and in numerous shows throughout the United States. Her art dives, sometimes literally, below the obvious meaning residing on the surface of stories and accounts of the past.

During their residency, Ben and Maisoon will have access to Oo La Lab's studios and resources to create unique scent-inspired artworks, fragrances, or installations. The program also provides a monthly stipend, full access to fragrance materials, mentorship from in-house scent artists, and an exhibition opportunity at the end of the residency.
