Sanger Public Library Honored with 2024 Achievement of Library Excellence Award

SANGER, Texas - Feb. 11, 2025 - PRLog -- SANGER, TEXAS – The Sanger Public Library has been recognized as one of the top public libraries in Texas, receiving the prestigious 2024 Achievement of Library Excellence Award from the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association (TMLDA), an affiliate of the Texas Municipal League. This honor places the Sanger Public Library among the top 19% of public libraries across the state, a testament to its dedication to outstanding service and community engagement.

To earn this award, libraries must demonstrate excellence in all of the following ten categories:

• Outreach to underserved populations through special programs, collaborations, and targeted collections
• Innovative and effective marketing to promote library services and programs
• Strong community partnerships that enhance services and impact
• Expansion of services to better meet the needs of the public
• Comprehensive literacy support for all age groups
• Digital inclusion efforts, including internet access, digital literacy training, and online library services
• Workforce development programs that support job seekers and career growth
• Cultural, educational, and topical programming for adults and families
• Ongoing professional development for library staff
• Unique community services that highlight the library's role in improving quality of life

The Sanger Public Library excelled in these areas through its wide array of innovative programs and services, including an aluminum pour, Sanger Art Show, Puzzle Race, and Traffic Stop 101.

Only 102 public libraries in Texas earned this distinction in 2024, out of 542, underscoring the Sanger Public Library's commitment to excellence and vital role in the community.
