XI'AN, China - Feb. 14, 2025 - PRLog -- The EU's updated Global Warming Potential (GWP) regulation (EU 2024/537), effective January 1, 2025, mandates a maximum refrigerant GWP of 150 for all industrial equipment entering the EU. This policy accelerates the global shift toward carbon neutrality and challenges the environmental simulation industry to innovate. As a leader in the field, LIB Industry has proactively upgraded its full product line with sustainable refrigerant solutions, ensuring compliance with the EU's stringent standards.

GWP quantifies the impact of greenhouse gases on global warming, and the GWP value of 1 ton of refrigerant is equivalent to the warming effect multiple of the same amount of CO2. Previously common refrigerants like R404A (GWP=3922) and R23 (GWP=14,800) were banned by the EU in 2014 due to high environmental risks.

The introduction of new EU regulations has had a direct impact on test chamber manufacturers that rely on traditional refrigerants. While refrigerants like R449A (GWP=1396) remain legal, their GWP still exceeds the new limit. Others, such as R508B (GWP=13,504), require complex leakage controls for ultra-low-temperature applications.LIB analyses, future entry into the EU market will be highly dependent on: environmentally friendly refrigerant adaptation technology and equipment energy efficiency optimization.

In this regard, LIB Industry said that the new regulations are not a simple replacement of refrigerants. LIB uses a new combination of refrigerant alternatives to ensure low temperatures of -70°C and below, while reducing the test chamber's energy consumption.

At present, the main environmental chamber for sale such as temperature and humidity chambers and thermal cycle chambers of LIB have reached the total GWP value ≤150, and have completed field testing and verification in European customers.

So far, LIB's customer market has spread to nearly 60 countries around the world, and the market is still expanding. The continuous layout of local agents and global service centers makes it easier to purchase and obtain services. As a comprehensive manufacturer of environmental simulation test chambers, LIB wide test chambers include the temperature and humidity chamber, IP dust and rain chambers, UV weathering aging chambers, gas test chambers, salt spray chambers, etc. Standardized and customized test chambers are all available.
