BAM Fest! Celebrated History and Culture through Bill Edwards Foundation for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Feb. 20, 2025 - PRLog -- The Mahaffey Theater Class Acts successfully hosted BAM Fest!, a free outdoor festival celebrating history and culture through art, on February 19th from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. This unique event brought together interactive workshops, immersive experiences, and hands-on activities showcasing the human experience's rich tapestry.

"We just want them to have fun. We know that it's an enjoyable learning experience outside of the classroom. They get movement and get to express themselves," said Amy Miller, President of Bill Edwards Foundation for the Arts.

BAM Fest! was designed as a field trip experience for students of all ages, providing an engaging and educational opportunity to explore diverse cultures and historical eras through art. The festival took place on the picturesque grounds of the Mahaffey Theater, offering a unique setting for learning, creativity, and cultural connection.

Highlights of the event included:

• Interactive workshops and immersive experiences that brought history and culture to life through art
• Traditional crafts and hands-on activities celebrating diverse cultures and historical eras
• A free book was given to each student as a keepsake
• Lunch was provided for all students

"The arts are so important. They help people become well-rounded," said Katrina Young, Class Acts Education and Outreach. "This is something kids may not experience in a normal, day-to-day activity at school, so if they take an interest in these different areas, we hope they can take these things on into their future."

BAM Fest! was made possible through the support of local organizations and individuals who share a passion for arts education and cultural enrichment.
