Rigorous Safety Design of ADAS and ADS – Implications on Tools

Feb. 20, 2025 - PRLog -- As several companies are offering self-driving vehicles services and vehicles worldwide, their safety continues to be a major concern. Unfortunately, stakeholders do not agree on what is meant by safety of automated vehicles including how to measure it and how to design for it. In this webinar, we will discuss important questions about the safety of automated vehicles and some of their answers. Rigor has been identified as a significant missing requirement in current developments. The webinar will also provide a discussion of rigor in the design, development, and commercialization of automated vehicles. In addition, the importance of ALM tools will be discussed including software tool requirements to support a rigorous approach. Finally, an ALM tool, the functional safety module of EwQIMS, is introduced emphasizing its rigorous features for implementing much of the ISO 26262 standard.
