Horizons Youth Services announces Milwaukee Job Corps Commencement Exercises on February 20, 2025

Horizons Youth Services announced the commencement exercises for the Milwaukee Job Corps Center, where 30 students graduated on February 20, 2025. 20 out of 30 graduating students have already secured career positions, including apprenticeships with the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Union Local 107 and the Plasterers and Cement Masons Union 500, and two students have joined the military. Job Corps is free for eligible students aged 16-24 from low-income households.
MILWAUKEE - Feb. 24, 2025 - PRLog -- Horizons Youth Services, Job Corps operator is proud to announce that the Milwaukee Job Corps Center has held its semiannual commencement exercises on February 20, 2025, at the center located at 6665 N 60th St, Milwaukee, WI 53223. A total of 30 students have participated in the graduation.

According to Center Director Marlon Paige, 20 graduating students have already been placed into career positions, including two apprenticeships with the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Union Local 107 and one apprenticeship with the Plasterers and Cement Masons Union 500. Additionally, two students have joined the military following their training at the center.

The Milwaukee Job Corps Center currently offers education and training in cement masonry, certified nurse assistant, manufacturing technology, material handling and distribution, medical administrative assistant, and welding. Employers throughout the region's collaboration with the center to fill their needs for ready-to-work employees that are well trained and possess in-demand credentials for their industries.

Acknowledging the achievement of graduating students, Mr. Paige said, "Training our students to become stakeholders in the workforce development community will put them in position to improve their lives, family, community, and city".

Job Corps is free for ages 16–24 from low-income households who meet the eligibility requirements, and students can apply and enroll at any time. Job Corps provides hands-on career technical skills training, on-campus housing, meals, health care and job search assistance.
