FORT MYERS, Fla. - Feb. 27, 2025 - PRLog -- Sandy and Tim Youngquist hosted A Conversation about Feeding the Future to raise awareness about the growing hunger crisis in Southwest Florida and Harry Chapin Food Bank's plans to address food insecurity across the region.

Held Feb. 19 at the couple's Fort Myers home, nearly 40 community and philanthropic leaders had opportunities to learn about Harry Chapin Food Bank's mission to end hunger in Southwest Florida. The Food Bank, which serves 250,000 neighbors each month, is privately funded and receives support from individuals, businesses, foundations, grocery stores and food distributors.

Richard LeBer, president and CEO of Harry Chapin Food Bank, explained to guests that although Southwest Florida is an affluent area, thousands of our neighbors are experiencing hunger. Those needing the Food Bank's services include working families with children, veterans, seniors, public service workers, health care professionals, educators and others.

"Harry Chapin Food Bank is laser focused on its mission of ending hunger in Southwest Florida," LeBer said. "In 2024, we distributed an astounding 39.5 million pounds of food to neighbors through our Feeding Network, but the need is growing exponentially, and collectively as a community we must come together with solutions for the hunger crisis."

The Youngquists were the first to host A Conversation about Feeding the Future, a new series of informal gatherings to educate community members about Harry Chapin Food Bank's mission and role in addressing food insecurity in Southwest Florida. Guests at the Youngquist's event enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres provided by G3 Catering, as well as musical entertainment by Marc Collins.
