Qwasar Silicon Valley Unveils Master's in Computer Science Without Bachelor's Degree Requirement

SAN FRANCISCO - March 18, 2025 - PRLog -- Qwasar Silicon Valley College of Engineering, the leading modern college of engineering for software and AI/ML, today announced the launch of admissions for its Master's of Science in Computer Science degree that does not require a Bachelor's degree in any subject. Admissions focuses on a modern approach based on skills and performance.

The system is the first of its kind in North America and prioritizes technical capabilities, coding experience and potential over conventional academic qualifications. It opens doors for thousands of candidates highly capable of completing a Master's degree in Computer Science who have been excluded from traditional programs to date.

Master's Admissions Without a Bachelor's Degree
Performance-based admissions is a forward-thinking evaluation method that shifts the focus from traditional transcripts and test scores to real-world technical proficiency and programming skills. Applicants demonstrate their capabilities through a structured, multi-step process.

Successful candidates receive a conditional offer to join the Master's program: to fully enroll, students must complete at least 25% of the curriculum while maintaining a minimum score of 90% on all courses.

Qwasar CEO Kwame Yamgnane, co-founder of internationally recognized School 42 and 42 Silicon Valley, stated, "This is the next frontier for graduate degrees - ones that focus on skills, not letters of recommendation, GRE, and GPAs. With employers preferring degreed candidates, despite the "skills-based hiring" movement, this is a real opportunity for capable developers and potentials to earn what employers require to get into top jobs."

Financial Transparency
The program's fee structure ensures clarity and fairness:
  • A $200 administrative fee is required upon application submission.
  • A $450 conversion fee applies when transitioning from a conditional offer to full enrollment upon meeting performance standards.
  • Tuition is due at the start of the program, with a 60% partial refund available if the conditional performance requirements are not met.
This initiative aligns with Qwasar Silicon Valley's broader mission to train millions for the digital world and transform tech education. Recently recognized as one of the top 200 companies on Holon IQ's North America EdTech 200 list in 2023 and 2024—and one of only 12 distinguished startups selected in the competitive STEAM category.
